DESCRIPTION

For consignment, an updated, slightly rodded, chromed, rounded form looking much like the original 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Special. An updated engine, interior, suspension, along with tastefully retaining some original charm from the factory, this car is a fine mix of many contributors, some new parts, and all wrapped up in the original body styling. Might I say a wolf in sheep\'s clothing? Read on bowtie fans!

Exterior
Looking at these curvaceous metal lines we are about to dive into a pool which is draped in a mix of Aspen Green and white. It is looking fab with a beautiful patina finish and to add to it, there is plenty of chrome trimmings, all in a slightly less patined finish. A multi-bar stacked front grille in chrome frames the lower front of this car, and just below hangs a bumper that grips tight with the front and body curve as it wraps around the front quarters. Just above the grille is a nice cloisonn Chevrolet badge with a bowtie in blue and red, and this paves the way for the hood mounted rocket ornament. Covering the passengers is a bulbous roof bathed in white and looking good against the green. Staring at the sides of this big slabbed auto, we see well minded gaps, and some nice chrome which encircles the upper greenhouse, creates a front fender to mind door trim spear, and trims the lower rockers. A rounded rear fender continues the smooth line and has a chrome panel on its leading edge which attaches to the rocker trim. Even the lower part of the fuel filler door is trimmed. Badging is in chrome also, and in the style of your grandmother\'s handwriting. On the back more, beautiful sculpted round forms for the back of the fenders, a nice trunk winged trim above the keyhole, and another form fitting rear chrome bumper. Just below dual exhaust tips, in chrome peek out \"from-undah\". 15\" Aspen Green steel wheels with more patina adorn all 4 corners and are wrapped in medium width whitewall radials.

Interior
A compliment to the exterior green, a swing of the doors and we see a mixture of soiled ivory broadcloth and taupe carpet working together with faded black paint paint along with a green checked pattern for the arm rest and chrome for the door actuator and window crank. For the passengers, a long duo of comfortable benches, utilizing a snazzy green and ivory checked broadcloth, and even a smooth covered seat tub in this pattern. This front seat shows fading of the material as well as soiling and a tear on the driver\'s lower cushion and has a split back for easier access to the rear seat, which is finished like the front and looks in fine shape. All this floats in a sea of taupe carpeting that presents with frayed edges at the door thresholds. Fronting this seating area is an original gray dash in its all metal jacket form. We see a rounded dash top that slightly overhangs the dash front where all the action is with the circular gauges, vertical chromed ribbing that disguises the airflow sliders and radio, and plenty of knobs and pulls with nicely aged cream bakelite toppers. On the dash top is a round insert and down low is a trio of black face aftermarket gauges. Above, more checked green and ivory cloth for the headliner just in perfect condition.

Drivetrain
Under the hood things never looked so good, within Aspen Green and black painted bay is a consignor stated fresh 350ci crate V8 courtesy of Jegs. This has been fitted with a mild cam and topped with ported aluminum heads from Summit Racing. Feeding theproper amount of air and fossils is a Summit Racing intake manifold and 4bbl Holley carburetor. A 12-volt alternator hangs off the block, other accessories present well and supple hoses finish off the bay. Sending the power to the 1987 Monte Carlo SS 10 bolt rear axle is a TH350 with a shift kit.

Undercarriage
Up on the lift this car shows nothing to be ashamed of as it\'s all sprayed black with little to no surface rust, solid frame, floor pans and toe kicks, wheel wells and underpinnings. However, we do note some invasive rust on the inner rocker panels. Independent coil springs with tubular control arms are the suspension for the front, and leaf springs for the rear, and our consignor notes that the suspension has been lowered 2\". Disc brakes are on in the front and drums bring up the rear, and not to forget the exhale, we note dual exhaust snaking its way rearward with a pair of Smithy mufflers.

Drive-Ability
This car started immediately and idled to the point where we had to see if it was actually running! Off to the test track where it ran just swimmingly, smooth acceleration, bias free panic stopping, and not a lot of body roll when being pushed just a bit. A fine cruiser with the low and slow look in which all functions save for the horn, tail lights and rear signal lights were working properly.

A piece\' de resistance for any bowtie fan, all buttoned up and ready to roll with nary an effort but the t
