DESCRIPTION

This 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible is a true classic that has also been upgraded for extra small block V8 pep and extra style. It's the kind of drop-top that you just can't help but want to take out for a sunny Sunday drive.

Ford had the Mustang positioned a little further upscale in 1973. And while they offered plenty of colors (including four shades of blue,) it never looked as deep as this. You're looking at an upgrade to a dark blue later in life. It's a sophisticated color that has a good shine today, and so it fits in with the way a '73 should be presented while also giving you a distinctive style. The body keeps a very factory style, right down to the color-matched front bumper. Even the upgrades are well-integrated because the sporty NACA duct hood and Mag 500 wheels were part of the options list back then. We also like the '73 for the history it represents. This was the final year for the first generation, and they even feared it might be the last drop-top pony car ever (the convertible disappeared for an entire generation.) That's why we cherish these.

The black roof looks quite nice against the dark blue paint. But with the flip of a switch, the top folds back to show off an even more distinctive interior. After all, the lighter blue seats against the exterior paint add a European level of style. And this is a well-done upgrade where the black inserts in the seats coordinate with the side panels and dash. Plus, the light blue convertible boot cover seems to tie it all together nicely. On the whole, the interior looks good, but it's never too fancy to have you afraid to have all your friends pile in and go for a ride. That's because this is built to be a driver. You have good stock features like the full heat/defrost and an auxiliary gauge package. And these are joined by upgrades like an AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette, upgraded speakers, and a column-mounted tach.

The engine bay is attractive. The appeal is not just about the shine from the valve covers and air grabber, but also functional pieces like the newer hoses and plug wires. At the heart is Ford's mighty 302 cubic-inch V8, and this has been upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake. It makes for a strong-running power package that loves to hit the road. That's why you also have good anytime driving features like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide Grand Am GT tires.

A distinct year Mustang meets with added distinct style. So you don't want to miss this drop-top pony. Call today!!!
