For many, the Triumph TR6 is the pinnacle of the traditional British roadster. It has a powerful inline six motor and fully independent suspension, so it's the perfect mix of vintage, nimble, and fun. And this example delivers good looks with upgrades all for quite an obtainable price.
While all classic British roadsters are attractive, the deep red seen on this one seems to perfectly convey sportiness and sophistication all in the first glance. This continuation of the TR series had more muscular fender lines. There was also no mistaking its Triumph heritage with a flat Kamm-back treatment that was also seen on the larger cars like the Stag. There's a minimal amount of brightwork to keep these cars uncluttered, and so the polished pieces were nicely upgraded to stand out even more. For example, the bumpers have a smooth look thanks to no overrides (they do come with the sale,) and the wire wheels have genuine knock-off hubs for a true European sports car experience.
A black interior against the red exterior always looks good on convertibles like this. And just like the exterior, there are some terrific but subtle upgrades. For example, the real wood dash is extra glossy, the bucket seats are finished in a supple leather, and the steering wheel is a sporty Moto-Lita unit. Because nothing is better than your favorite song on a road trip, this roadster has a proper AM/FM/cassette stereo. And for those times when you get caught out in wet weather, there is full convertible top and roll-up windows.
The TR6 is particularly coveted for its motor. It has 2.5-liter inline-six backed by dual Stromberg carburetors, so it's one of the most powerful lightweight British roadsters of the era. The motor fires up nicely and knows how to pull this lightweight machine with real authority. This powerful acceleration is in your full control thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Take the long way home, and you'll instantly fall in love with the way the fully independent sport suspension and front disc brakes handle in this roadster. And the upgraded wheels allow for better tires, like the grippy BF Goodrich units on this one right now. The full feeling is a hypnotic experience that will instantly remind you why the British are known for driving passion.
This has been carefully owned, and the sale even comes with an indoor car cover. This is the ideal Sunday Funday driving friend, and it's offered for a terrific price. Don't miss out, call today!
