This 1949 Merc Custom Sled is a nut and bolt full rotisserie restoration just completed with about 1,000 break in miles is full on show quality all around. Chopped, slammed and smoothed, this iconic “Merc Sled” is resting on a custom one off chassis with four corner ShockWave air ride suspension with a C notch in the rear to provide the correct amount of clearance. Polished engine accessories and polished and color matched fender wells are a nice touch. Body mods include 2 inch chop at the B pillar with no change to the A pillar and a reshape to the C pillar. All corners of the body have been rounded and headlights and taillights frenched. The laser straight body has been finished in a show quality 1940 Ford Maroon paint. The drive line tunnel was replaced to ensure clearance for the driveshaft and the floorboards were replaced. The front grill was hand made from a 1954 Ford grill and was V’d to match the opening of the Merc. Prior to assembly the body was sprayed with Lizard Skin then had Dyna-Mat installed. Power is supplied by a healthy 351 Cleveland Ford motor with an automatic transmission and tied to a Ford 9 inch. All this with power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, AC and heat with hidden controls, and a hidden sound system to roll with your favorite tunes.
