1982 TOYOTA FJ40 LAND CRUISER
Showroom Condition

** Body Condition ** This Land Cruiser lived most of its life in California, with a short time in Illinois and Mississippi before I purchased it. A total nut and bolt, frame off restoration has been performed on it. Overall the Land Cruiser was in good shape but some rust areas needed taken care of. The rear quarter panels, rear sill, wheel well inside humps, and driver floor pan had evidence of rust damage. Rather than trying to repair any rust areas these panels were removed and steel panels from Real Steel Land Cruiser Parts were installed. These are original die stamped steel replacement parts of the highest quality available. Painted piece-by-piece using factory Beige (color code #464) in base coat clear coat. I am very picky about paint work and finish. Painting completed by a top restoration shop in Thomasville GA with a $13k price just for paint (not including replacement body panels). Frame was cleaned, undercoated, and black top coat applied in a black hammer finish.

** INTERIOR CONDITION ** All seat upholstery and headliner ordered new. Front seat frames, rear jump seat frames and roll bar have been powder coated. Original Toyota mat in front, rear has custom Lloyd mat. Sound deadening material installed in all floor areas. All dash controls, gauges, and lights in perfect working order. Jump seats and new seat belts in place.

** MECHANICAL CONDITION ** 132K miles on odometer when purchased. Original 6 cylinder 2F engine (compression #s 1/159 2/158 3/159 4/164 5/163 6/160) with 4-speed synchronized transmission, 4-wheel drive. New Power Steering unit installed sourced from JT Outfitters. BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain Terrain T/As (31 x 10.5 x 15) mounted on white powder coated stock Toyota wheels. A known source of problems is the intake and exhaust manifold gasket. Often times the gasket is replaced but still there is a gap between the manifolds and head. Only way to seal correctly is to have the intake and exhaust manifold sent to a machine shop and have them planed so they will mate with no gaps. This has been done on this Land Cruiser.
