The C3 Corvettes represent an affordable and viable entry into the collector/performance car hobby and their values continue to climb. This vehicle is a prime example of why these cars are growing in popularity. It is a stunning, reliable running and driving vehicle that is ready to enjoy and cruise. Garage Kept Motors is excited to feature this 1974 Chevrolet Corvette with T-Tops which has been under the same ownership since 1981.
A true American Classic this Corvette is painted white with red and blue custom pinstriping. The paint has been well cared for and shines with a nice luster showing only some minor flaws. All the stainless molding and trim has been well maintained and shine brightly and are free of any pitting or serious patina. This car has a couple of neat highlights with the optional luggage rack and the era-correct Keystone Klassic wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A radial tires which are a nice touch on this 70\'s classic.
Inside the cab, the factory original blue interior is complete and presents as original having been well well-kept and maintained. Sitting inside the cockpit of a C3 Corvette is reminiscent of riding in a small aircraft with all the gauges and driver center controls. The factory vinyl seat upholstery is soft and pliable and free of any rips or seam pulls. The carpet is clean showing only some light wear, and the dash looks amazing and is free of any sun fade or cracking. The door panel vinyl has some minor cracks on both doors however the color is rich. The optional Delco AM/FM stereo radio is still in place from the factory.
Under the hood sits an L-48 350 V8 small block. The engine compartment is original with the emission control equipment, points-style distributor, and all the ignition chrome shielding all still in place. It presents as well maintained with new coolant hoses and fan belts, air cleaner, and fuel pump. A set of chrome valve covers, and air cleaner add a little bling under the hood. Power is transferred through a heavy-duty GM 400THM 3-speed automatic to the rear independent suspension with limited slip differential.
Underneath the car is unrestored but presents as well-maintained. The floorboards and frame are very clean, and there are no signs of any serious corrosion. The suspension features power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes and is factory-equipped with front and rear stabilizer/roll bars. The rear spring was replaced with a JRS spring. The exhaust flows through a true dual exhaust system into factory style mufflers that gives this vehicle the iconic Corvette rumble.
As mentioned, these cars are climbing in popularity, and this car with its time capsule quality captures the subtle 1970\'s vibe without looking dated. This is a great Corvette to collect, yet enjoy driving with the T-Tops off, the sun on your face, and the wind in your hair. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking.
