DESCRIPTION

This 1968 Ford Mustang is a real-deal GT drop-top, and we have the Marti Report to prove it. And with everything from a sleek style to an upgraded four-speed, you just know this is the classic pony car that gets its attitude just right.

A good classic means paying attention to the fundamentals. For example, because the sheet metal is quite straight, it makes for an even more impressive place to display the bright red paint. It was resprayed sometime later in life, and so that helps give it the kind of shine that you want on a bold GT car. It also gets all the sporty appearance pieces correct, like fog lights in the grille, GT badging (including the gas cap,) dual exhaust w/quad tips, and the special set of factory wheels with beauty rings. Bright chrome bumpers, a Deluxe hood, and a well-fitting top are all about what makes this one an impressive total package.

Not only does the black roof go quite well with the red exterior, but also with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a full black interior. All the best vintage pieces are still in place and look good, including the front bucket seats, center console, premium wood-like trim, and deluxe steering wheel. But this is also the kind of classic that wants to be more comfortable for weekend driving. That's why you have well-placed upgrades like cup holders, a Mustang branded AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette, and a CD changer. And you just know you'll love resting your right hand on the Hurst shifter.

There's proper V8 power waiting for you under the hood. We love the 1968 cars because it was the debut of the larger 302 cubic-inch motor, and this GT was optioned to have one right from the factory. In fact, this has quite a stock look and it's suspected to be the original powerhouse. This is a proper J-code car, and that means the engine inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor. You get firm control over the V8 power thanks to an upgraded four-speed manual transmission. This convertible was made to be a driver. So newer bushings, new leaf springs, power steering, and Wide Goodyear tires are all there to give you confidence on the road.

The sale comes complete with the Marti Report, owner's manual, and build receipts. When such a solid classic is also a great modern cruiser, you know you can't let this one slip away. Call today!!!
