1977 GMC Sprint

1977 was the last year for this Chevrolet El Camino and GMC Sprint body design before a major downsizing for the 1978 model year. 1977 was also the last year GMC used the Sprint name before rebranding it the Caballero the following year. This great looking 1977 GMC Sprint represents the last of an era of style and substance of the El Camino and Sprint. The Sprint was always produced in small numbers, and the 1977 model year was no different. A total of 54,341 El Caminos were produced that year. Under the cowl hood is clean and color coordinated, featuring a 400 cubic inch small block V8 mated to a 700R4 transmission that sends power back to a 10-bolt rear end. Upgrades include a Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock carburetor, a nice sounding cam, custom valve covers and air cleaner. An upgraded radiator with added dual electric pusher fans help keep things cool. Long tube headers exit through dual exhaust with performance mufflers that produced a deep rumble. Stopping is aided by power brakes with discs in front.
