DESCRIPTION

This 1972 Ford LTD convertible is the final year for Ford's LTD full-sized luxury ragtops, but they certainly didn't hold back. This classic V8 drop-top is the ideal size for grabbing some friends or family and going for a ride. And not only is this one highly original and loaded, but the value price means you have room in your budget for plenty of personalization.

The style of these LTDs has gotten even better with age. Bumper laws would soon put an end to artful front ends like this one with chrome surrounding a full-feature grille and inset headlights. So with this kind of history, it's nice to have one with a very survivor-like quality. You see it everywhere from the If you're looking for perfection, then the "survivor" keyword should let you know that you'll find flaws. That's why the price reflects an ability to budget for restoring, upgrading, and/or personalizing to your taste. But for most of us classic fans, the more original it is, the more awesome it gets. After all, this final-year convertible was the rarest LTD by far, and basically only Ford's wagons and Thunderbirds commanded a higher price. So they were scarce when new and are even rarer now that it's celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The white convertible top handsomely coordinates with the paint, but for true distinction, you'll like taking it down. The red interior looks stylishly sporty against the exterior white, especially with the coordinating full-length pinstripe on the outside. Just like the exterior, the interior is all about vintage charm and the allure of originality. In fact, the only upgrades you're likely to spot are ones that make it a better cruiser, like the wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. This never really needed much added because it seems like they checked every option on the sheet for added luxury, right down to the power locks and power seat. For those who want to invest in fixing a rear window motor and restoring the factory air conditioning, you have the makings of a truly ideal cruiser. After all, that would mean you have power windows and a power top that makes it easy to open up to the world, and A/C makes it nice to do that even in the summer.

Ford's 351 cubic-inch V8 provides plenty of power for the big ragtop. It has a torque-filled nature that makes for a solid cruiser. It floats down the road like a good 70s machine should, and with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs, Ford's top-tier luxury drop-top is a breeze to drive.

Exceptionally preserved, a rare gem like this is not often also this affordable. So you know you have to act quickly if you want this final-year LTD convertible to be yours. Call today!!!
