DESCRIPTION

8758 1928 Ford Model A Pickup

For consignment, a 1928 Ford Model A pickup showing 34,454 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This steel bodied street rodded beauty was completed in 2011 and houses a Corvette LT1 V8 up front. Think of it as a 100 year old Lightning!

Exterior
In a departure from typical street rod colors, this handsome unit is done up in two stage Sand Tan paint, conservative by rodding standards but refreshing and bright. We love how the paint shows off the character lines and stiffening skirts of the body panels. After the paint, it\'s the steep rake you\'ll note; a roofline that\'s at full tilt and a bed that sends it up in the air, made possible by deeply staggered tire sizes on 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels, painted gray and wearing dog dish hubcaps. Contrasting black features include the grille, the vinyl roof, and of course, those line defining tires. It\'s all monochromatic from there including the visor, the rails in the bed, and the radiator shell. We would be remiss if we didn\'t mention the wooden planks in the bed, showing a touch of age and one suffering a natural crack. Other imperfections include just a few chips and a few bubbles.

Interior
Black and white tweed is used on the door panels, the bench seat, the rear wall, and even on the steering wheel center. That steering wheel leads to the body colored dash with a center instrument cluster way more modern than 1928, but still refreshingly analogue, and it\'s all clean. The floor has mats for protection and a whimsical shifter handle tops the floor mounted unit, all in black. Up top, oak wood framing dresses the ceiling.

Drivetrain
Shoehorned into the front is a 5.7 liter LT1 engine, rated at 300 horsepower and fuel injected. It\'s mated to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission that routes power to the rear axle and 3.54 gears.

Undercarriage
An interesting and driver quality underside includes a big single exhaust running through a Turbo mufflers and exiting through a single central oval chrome tip with some oily residue on its bottom surface. Power disc brakes are at all four wheels and coil over suspension is at both ends as well with a 4 link included in back.

Drive-Ability
The compact but comfortable interior is just this side of an amusement park ride and by that, we mean fun! The V8 rumbles to life and provides more than adequate power on the test loop. Nose down fun will be had by all in this bedded rod and all functions on board operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

If you\'ve been looking for a compact, quick, vintage truck, this one checks all the boxes. A handsome exterior, comfortable interior, and oh yes, 300 horses pulling this little rig! Fun factor: 100! Not a bad little grocery getter.
