DESCRIPTION

1933 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe

The Plymouth De Luxe and Special De Luxe were full-sized automobiles which were produced by American manufacturer Plymouth during the 1933-42 and 1946-50 model years. The Plymouth Deluxe Model PD appeared in 1933, shortly after the Plymouth Six Model PC which was the company\'s first six-cylinder automobile but offered a 107 in wheelbase versus 112 for the De Luxe.

For consignment, a multiple award winner of a car looking exactly like a showroom version of the 1933 PD coupe. A quality restoration by noted restorers Reinholds Restoration, from Reinholds, Pennsylvania, there are no stones left unturned on this beauty. An AACA Junior and Senior in 1991 along with an AACA Grand National in 1995 and 1998, and the 33 Preservation Award at Hershey. Turn the key and go and show it\'s that good!

Exterior
Look as closely as you like for this suicide door 5 window coupe, and you will be hard pressed to find any faults in the steel or paint. It is bathed in the deep end of the pool maroon and framed on either side with black curved fenders and running boards. A classy vertical ribbed polished shield style grille is flanked by perfectly preserved headlights on either side. A fold down running light is seen next to the headlights and these have a chromed horn below each side. All impeccably preserved and showroom quality chrome plating. A simple single bumper stretches across below and has round turn signal lights on either side. As we move back the long louvered side cowled hood covers the engine bay and sports a black metal trimming which runs the length of the car just below the belt line. Suicide doors with styled 33 handles have well minded gaps and float above the running boards which attached the curvaceous english wheel curved steel fenders in black. The roof has a vinyl center and in back the rumble seat begs for your mother-in-law to sit in it. Just below this seat is a black painted chromed edged spare tire cover which is mounted in the confines of another simple curved bumper with round reflectors mounted on either side. Just above, long chromed stalks protrude from the back of the fenders and have a conical shaped bezel taillight on either side. PLYMOUTH lettering is also framing the bottoms of the round red lights. Red steel wire wheels are wrapped with wide whites and have a dog dish center chromed hub cab in each center with a black Plymouth badge. All showroom condition, all looking just like it did in 1933. Lest I forget the winged goddess on top of the radiator cap!

Interior
Hand stitched button and tufted tweed in tan and a bit of dark brown peppering it, has been masterfully stitched by a true artist. The vertical door and side panels are also tight as drums and are in a fuzzy felted broadcloth. Door surrounds on the interior are lacquered faux painted wood grain frames topping the tan felting and are seen on all window surrounds. A roll shade is on the rear window, which can be opened if you\'d like to hear the opines of your mother-in-law. If not, just leave it up! A white headliner is hanging tight above and black rubber flooring is on the floor. More faux wood grinned metal is making up the dash and this is showing to near perfection. A beautiful warm vanilla oval with some circular painted gauges in the dash center. These have brown numbers and surrounds. The overall oval has a shiny chrome bezel. An oval glove box is on either end of the dash and fronting this is a like new black bakelite large round steering wheel. This interior looks like we just pulled the sticker off of the window!

Drivetrain
A lift of either side of the center hinged cowl hood reveals a fully restored 189ci inline 6-cylinder engine. This is fed by a 1-barrel carburetor and has a 3-speed manual transmission attached to the back of it. All looking sharp with no leaks within this space.

Undercarriage
Some minor slash of road dirt on rust free black straight steel all mourned. The floorpan presents as new as does the drum braking and leaf springs. Body hangers and rockers and even the underside of the fenders are very clean.

Drive-Ability
It started with ease and on the test track ran beautifully. Good solid bias free braking, smooth shifting and nice power. The interior is very comfortable and tasteful while providing that comfort. The gas gauge was erratic, and the freewheeling mode is in op.

We have a concours quality multiple award-winning example of the Plymouth Deluxe Coupe. Beautiful color combinations, tweed interior, faux wood dash and oval designs within the dash space. Very well-done example!
