Award-worthy paint, adjustable air ride suspension, a leather-lined custom A/C interior, four-wheel disc brakes, five-speed, and a performance-built big V8 under the hood - this 1961 Chevrolet Impala hardtop is a stunning one-of-a-kind restomod. It's so unique and powerful that it cannot escape the spotlight.
A bubble-top Impala is always in demand because it's premium, sporty, and instantly distinctive with the rare skinny c-pillar and wraparound rear window. And there are plenty of design touches on the '61 that did not make it onto any other year. But rarity is not what first attracted you to this one. From the moment you lay eyes on it, you can tell it's full custom that was restored to have better precision gaps than even the factory could have made. Next comes the kind of deep black paint that you can understand how slick it is simply by how it radiates light even under our indoor lamps. The closer you get, the more luster and shine you pick up, and so there was some serious investment in getting it looking this amazing. This one has all the right brightwork elements from the large wraparound bumpers, to the full-length sweeping trim. In the rear is one of the most intricate forms ever put to sheetmetal. The dipping "V" is something so daring you could only get it in '61. The final step to making this a truly distinguished hardtop is the wheel package. Not only are the modern Billet Specialties wheels staggered 19/20 inches front/rear, but also you have an electronically controlled air ride suspension. So you can make sure to have the perfect lowered stance wherever you park.
The interior is an awesome full custom red setup. It's thoughtfully done, and so if you look closely, you can see some nice tributes to great Chevys. For example, the rear still carries the central logo that once housed the rear speaker, and the inserts in the seats have the look of classic insignia trim. But everywhere else you look, this restomod offers plenty of modern upgrades. Supple leather surrounds the well-bolstered seating, and the front buckets even power adjust to your ideal position. There's a custom center console, LED lighting, cup holders, air ride controls, and a AM/FM/HD/XM touchscreen stereo with Bluetooth. The power windows make it easy to show off the hardtop profile of this special bubble top coupe, and the R134a air conditioning means you can stay cool doing it even in the summertime. But even with all these goodies, it's the grip of the Budnik sports steering wheel and the stick shift that remind you this is a true driver's machine.
The engine bay has the dark and tidy look of serious power. This is a 454 cubic-inch big block that was built by Nelson Performance and has been enlarged to 468ci total. And the enhancements don't end there. It also has Canfield aluminum heads, a hydraulic roller camshaft, T&D roller rockers, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and topped with a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor. Hedman headers add even more power while also contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. This also has the right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system, Optima red top battery, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. You are in complete control of this modern brute and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the five-speed manual transmission. But just because this has beastly power doesn't mean it's hard to tame. An upgraded suspension, power steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and the modern grip of Pirelli performance tires keep you in firm control.
You're probably already imaging the places you can go and how fast you'll get there in this complete build. So hurry and give us a call before the best Impala around goes to someone else. Call today!!!
