DESCRIPTION

1957 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster Replica

For consignment, a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette roadster replica with a title verified 440 miles since being built in 2010. It was built by Antique and Collectible Autos Incorporated of Buffalo, New York and has some components not even invented in 1957! If you\'re looking for a replica restomod but don\'t want to be another Cobra copy, here\'s a new twist on the replica movement.

Exterior
A car that is instantly recognizable enters the realm of perpetual collectability, even in replica form and a coat of two stage Onyx Black with an Inca Silver cove accentuates a spectacular design element which works with the silver rims of the black Foose wheels, all 17-inches of them and the ZR rated tires attached. The artful design continues on the back where inset round tail lights sit poised in a chrome sheath and a line follows that takes in exhaust tips that exit chrome sleeves in the bodywork. The toothed grille and single headlights exude an excitable face, as if the car is eager to move forward and an integrated hood scoop caps the hood like plume of a gladiator helmet. A windshield frame outlines the curved glass in polished metal and buffers the straight shoulder line beautifully. Imperfections are few and include a couple of chips in the paint and tail light nacelles which also show some light pitting, cloudy panels, swirl scratches, and a more linear scratch. A flat black accessory hardtop comes with the car.

Interior
Simpler than the original design, these doors present cleanly with red vinyl; smooth on top and square stitched on the bottom half, delineated by a line of silver trim. There are no windows on these doors, so no cranks or switches. Just a speaker and door actuator. The bucket seats do mimic the real deal, here also in red vinyl and red piping in overall good condition. Fan shaped coves are referenced here, hosting a Dakota Digital dash ahead of the driver under a red dash pad and embedded within a glossy black dashboard. That\'s behind a billet spoked steering wheel with burlwood rim. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio with Bluetooth is perched in the center of the dash and just south of that is a Hurst shifter, very close to original in form over a red floor covering. The trunk is black and clean and home to an RCI fuel cell.

Drivetrain
Flip open the reverse hinged hood and find a consignor stated 355ci V8 with a 4-barrel Holley carburetor, headers, and a T10 4-speed manual transmission that routes power to a Ford 9\" rear with 3.50 gears and Equalock. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, an aluminum radiator, high rise intake, and aluminum Vortec heads, all presenting in a clean engine bay.

Undercarriage
Framed by a powder coated box tube frame, the underside presents as clean and dry and Wildwood power disc brakes are on all four wheels. Suspension includes a Mustang II front end which includes rack and pinion steering and coil overs while the rear is occupied by a 4 link with adjustable coil overs. Dual exhaust runs through stainless steel mufflers before dumping out back.

Drive-Ability
We\'ve got a clear day so we\'re going top off today and the V8 rewards us with a pleasing rumble as we row the gears and head out to the test loop. The car provides good power and braking, and we note pulls left. But, all functions operate as they should and this is essentially a party for two on four wheels! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

As the price of rare vintage sports cars like Cobras and C1 Corvettes continues to do very well in the market, good replicas mean you can have the car of your dreams without risking your financial future or retirement account. This ode to \'57 is the perfect antidote!
