This 1986 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has the right level of preservations and investments you want on a one-owner car. So if you're looking for a time capsule that's also a loaded V8 sports machine, then this really checks all the right boxes.

The history shows that this T-top coupe has only had one private owner. And when you keep a car for decades, you treat it like something special. That starts with the paint. It has a stock-style look, but with an upgraded vibrant glow. That's because this was treated to a respray later in life. It takes a proper investment to retain the intricate style, but the results are worth it. You have a sleek sliver that shows off the well-creased body lines. The lower red stripe fades to black to visually connect to the Z/28 body kit. Plus, that black lower section coordinates with the hood trim, grille, headlight buckets, door handles, and rear panel a thoughtful total package. Add in the full-width rear spoiler, sport mirrors, and special Z/28 15-inch wheels, and this is a complete and attractive Z-car.

The odometer is believed to reflect this car's actual mileage (averaging less than 2k miles annually,) and that's not hard to believe considering how little use is seen inside. You get an attractive gray on the seats, door panels, dash, and more. It's all believed to be original and well preserved. In fact, the only replacement we can spot is the headliner (a welcomed investment on these GM cars.) And since this gray looks so good against the exterior silver, you'll love taking out the T-tops and sharing this with the world. Plus, the comfy velour on the seats means you can hop in on sunny days without a worry. More than just the fantastically preserved presentation, you're going to love this because it's a loaded classic. That means power windows, power locks, cruise control, a tilt steering column, electric rear defrost, the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo, and factory air conditioning now blowing cold with modern R134a. And you really see the benefit of a one-owner car with extras, like the factory T-top storage bags.

The engine bay has a fully stock look, and just like the rest of the car, we'd be hard-pressed to find anything that doesn't appear original. This is powered by the numbers-matching 305 cubic-inch V8. This is from the carbureted era, and so it's especially easy to unlock extra power from the motor. But really, it would be a shame to alter such a correct presentation that also has been so well maintained. So from day one, this fires up readily, idles smoothly, and pulls with the big torque these small blocks love to produce. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is a nice pairing for powerful shifting as well as overdrive comfort. Plus, this is a fantastic all-around cruiser thanks to features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and the sport suspension with sway bars front & rear.

This is the time capsule kind of Camaro that you'll love to drive, and you even have a great story for Cars & Coffee. So if you want an affordable classic that has all-around appeal, don't miss this T-top Z-car. Call now!
