DESCRIPTION
I purchased this project about 75% complete from a friend who lost interest. I finished the project and own a 1938 Ford and a 1965 GTO, too many cars, that’s why the 40 is for sale.
All restoration work accomplished with body off, remounted when all work was completed, with new body mounts. It’s powered by a 50,000 mile LT1 Engine & 4L60E Transmission out of the same Camaro.
Optima battery, I swear by them when properly charged. Used a Painless wiring kit to re-wire the whole car. Injectors and rail were serviced at a professional service shop, “Doctor Injector”. Transmission cooler mounted in front of radiator. The LT1 is a really impressive power plant. Third member is a Ford Explorer 8.8” with a 3.73 limited slip rear gears, mounted on after market leaf springs, also has a ford rear sway bar.
Had a new drive line cut and welded to fit. New fuel tank with injection fuel pump mounted inside tank, fuel filter mounted on side of frame rail, easy access. Mustang II power rack, powered by the LT1 steering pump, with custom valve to reduce pressure, front powered disc brakes, shoes in the rear. All new brake and fuel hard lines. All new X-cross members and trans mount.
Hand made dual exhaust with Flow master mufflers, breaks down in three sections each side using stainless V-clamps. Vintage Air A/C system using the LT1 air compressor. No fluid leaks anywhere.FATMAN Mustang II stub stage 2, Hub to Hub P/S chevy bolt pattern, tubular arms & GM motor mounts. Two speed Ford Taurus cooling fan. Custom dash with new VDO gauges, Data Link Connecter, installed under dash along wit “Engine Warning Light”. 1985 - 88 GM column with Pontiac Firebird steering wheel.
Specialty Power wiper assembly, Alternator rebuilt, can handle 200 plus amps. New American wheels, front 215/65/15, rear 225/60/15. PCM sent to LT! PCM Tuning for a check out and power tune upgrade. Documented $15,000 in parts alone. Guessing 2nd repaint (old) overall it looks pretty good consideration age of paint and second interior (old). Comes with three factory GM Camaro service books and stacks of documentation of & for the build, which includes custom wiring circuits documented for new owner trouble shooting when required. 300 plus additional photo’s to serious buyer.
