DESCRIPTION
This 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra is the debut year for the exceptionally more powerful 4.6-liter 32-valve V8. So when you have a midnight-style coupe that\'s sleek, fast, distinct, and loaded, it makes for a desirable collectible offered for a terrific price.
SVT and Cobra are some of the most desirable names in blue oval performance, so when you have them on the same car, you know you\'ve got the right machine. The black paint shows all the signs of being largely the factory application. The odometer is also believed to reflect the full mileage, which has to average about 2k miles annually. So the fit and finish of this coupe reflect a car that has seen good respect and less use than many of its contemporaries that have passed the quarter-century mark. This car is worth extra attention, so having nice-looking factory SVT details like the unique fascia, hood scoops, and coiled snake badges is great. And there\'s just the right enhanced attitude from this one where upgraded details look distinct without straying this classic too far from stock. You see it in places like the tinted windows and clear headlights. And the Cobra R 17-inch alloys are part of this car\'s lineage.
Inside, this Cobra continues to show you its dark side. The combination of black leather with the black exterior makes for a terrific premium and aggressive full midnight package that always is in style. Also, just like the outside, the impression you get here is a lower miles car that was used more for pleasure driving over the years than slogging in the daily grind. The upscale Cobra got almost every comfort and convenience option in the Mustang catalog as standard equipment from the factory. So the driver gets a great performance package that includes white-faced analog gauges, a leather-wrapped wheel, cruise control, a power seat, and a five-speed now with an upgraded shifter. Plus, there are power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, and provisions for air conditioning (likely needs servicing.) There\'s also an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth for the best in driving music. This modern classic also lets you take advantage of safety features like dual airbags and anti-lock brakes.
Under the hood, the DOHC 32-valve 4.6-liter V8 was a new addition for 1996. This is the ideal motor for terrific low-end power and plenty of muscle left in reserve to get you well above triple-digit speeds. This new powerplant was the ideal successor to the legendary 5.0 by offering more power while still giving you a hardy nature. So it loves upgrades like the BBK cold air intake. The five-speed manual transmission snaps through the gears easily, and the factory-upgraded suspension delivers true-performance car handling. There was even a Bama Performance tune rear-end upgrade to a 2.73 unit. There\'s also power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy Nitto low-profile tires.
This is the collectible Cobra that you\'ll also love to drive. So it makes for a great modern classic for quite a nice price. Call now!
