The resulting authenticity and attention to detail earned the car a prestigious National First Place Award in judging by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). In later competition it also received its National Senior First Place Award. In judging by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA), the car scored 997 out of 1,000 points in one of the most rigorous judging regimes of any marque club. Correctly finished in code 917 Twilight Turquoise paint, it gives off a distinct sleeper vibe thanks to its contrasting Black power soft top and Blackwall tires on deep-dish painted steel wheels with dog dish hub caps. In contrast, the Black interior is typical Impala elegance, defined by button-tufted interior paneling and upholstery, a split-bench front seat, clean dash layout with all working gauges and accessories. The rebuilt 409 CI Turbo-Fire engine and 4-speed floor-shifted manual transmission are the highlights of a pristine engine compartment and chassis that are as clean as the rest of this impressive Impala Convertible. Driven just 5,000 miles since its restoration, the car is truly evocative of the early muscle car period. It is offered with a custom car cover, Black convertible top boot and a set of four deluxe wheel covers.
