Exceptionally low mileage, all the luxury amenities, and true American style... This 1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is the one-family triple-green classic that delivers a time capsule feeling the moment it floats down the road.
This car has been in one family all its life thus far. So when we're told the odometer reflects the full actual mileage (averaging under 800 miles annually) it's quite easy to believe. Of course, it's also the overall condition of this classic Caddy that reinforced the well-respected and low-mileage feeling. The Blackwatch Green Metallic paint is the factory-correct color, and it has been treated to a quality respray later in life to continue an emerald-like glow. There are terrific details, like the detailed white pinstriping and a coordinating green vinyl top that was freshly replaced in 2021. It makes for a premium style even before you check out the brightwork. Mirror-like bumpers, detailed window trim, and classic wire wheel covers are pure Cadillac style. And we love the upgraded grille with classic 1940s-style hood ornament leading the way. It just seems to let everyone know that this one is special.
If you liked the deep green color of the exterior, then you'll love what you'll see when you open the door. The Antique Dark Green makes for the seldom-seen triple-green (paint, roof, and interior.) This is the right mix of preservation and investment so that the leather upholstery is supple, the carpeting is nice, the dash is smooth, and the headliner feels new. It's loaded with all the best features, like power windows, cruise control, tilt steering column, power locks, and cold-blowing air conditioning. This is so period correct that you might need a few moments to understand how to operate the factory 8-track player that's still part of the AM/FM stereo! There are more of these time capsule feelings everywhere from the bright courtesy lights to the full wood-like trim package. Just like any good Cadillac, it has space for six people, but the fold-down armrests and power front seat means individual comfort. And the trunk is large enough to carry the whole foursome's golf clubs.
Under the hood is the monstrous 425 cubic-inch V8 motor with a four-barrel carburetor. Not only does this look exceptionally honest/original but it's also the confirmed numbers-matching powerhouse. It has been maintained correctly so that it fires up eagerly and hits the road with confidence. Emissions regulations of that era had taken out some of the horsepower, but this Caddy is quick off the stoplights because it makes enough torque to rival the modern full-size Cadillacs. The cruising attitude is heightened by a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic transmission, supple suspension, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet, some spares, and a car cover so you can properly tuck this family heirloom into your garage at night. This is the triple-green DeVille presented to be true rolling nostalgia. Call today!!!
