The early third generation Corvettes are some of the most sought after and collectible models, second only to the C2 Corvettes of 1963-1967. The 1971 model you see here is a beautiful example of the early third generation chrome bumper Corvettes. Looking absolutely stunning in Mulsanne Blue with excellent chrome trim and rally wheels, this Corvette draws envious stares wherever you go. The white vinyl top provides a nice color contrast, is easily raised or lowered by hand, and stores away neatly under the factory cover for a nice clean look with the top down. The chrome luggage carrier is period correct, and is in excellent condition. The chrome bumpers front and rear have an excellent shine and no corrosion to be found. White letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A's complete the muscle car look while providing a great ride and increased handling. On the inside you'll find excellent blue vinyl bucket seats, tilt and telescopic steering column, full instrumentation, and an upgraded AM/FM/Cassette stereo. The condition on the inside is just as excellent as the outside. It is a joy to sit inside and look around at all the excellent fit and finish of this third generation beauty. Stick the key in, push in the clutch, and fire up the 270hp 350CI Chevrolet small block V-8. It starts easily without fussing, and settles to a nice quiet purr. Slot the shifter of the M21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission into first, and glide away on a wave of smooth torque and excellent sounding exhaust harmony. This Corvette is truly a joy to drive. The four wheel independent suspension provides a smooth ride while keeping the tires firmly planted, the transmission shifts smoothly and with rifle bolt action, steering is free from excess play, while the four wheel disc brakes bring this amazing classic Corvette to a quick stop when necessary. You won't ever want to stop driving this Stingray, it's just that much fun! Take it to a car show and it brings a crowd, and a trophy!
