DESCRIPTION

As the Me Decade progressed, Lincoln responded by expanding its Continental Mark series into its fourth iteration in 1972, which lasted into the Disco Era.

This car was made in Ford\'s Wixom, Michigan factory in November 1974 and it was originally shipped to the Detroit, Michigan sales territory (code 34). This is one of 47,145 Mark IVs made in 1975. This mark IV Lincoln has had the same owner since 2003 with low understood mileage at only 20,480. The car was always garaged for the last 21 years. Comes with sworn odometer statement.

This Lincoln Continental Mark IV is an example of a limited luxury line called the \"Lipstick Edition,\" an all-white option package with Lipstick Red interior details and carpeting (code DN). The white paint (code 9D) and trim on this car is in overall excellent condition, a testament to how well it has been taken care for almost 50 years! Complementing the paint is a white Normandie-grained full vinyl roof (code FW) that looks great. The car\'s engine bay is extremely tidy, the red carpeted cargo area looks great, including the spare tire cover, the faux Continental kit on the trunk lid and the chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body.

The Mark IV introduced a rear side window, marketed as an opera window, to the Mark series - a feature that was featured on the Mark through the discontinuation of the Mark VI after 1983. For 1972, the opera window was an almost universally specified option, becoming standard for 1973.

This car rolls on Yokohama white stripe radials, size 225/75R15 at all four corners. Each one is mounted on a steel wheel and topped by a full factory wheel cover. The wheels are in good, original order while the tires are in very good condition. A feature retained from the Mark III was the \"Sure-track\" brakes.

Under the car\'s huge hood is Ford\'s 460 CID (code A) version of its 385 V-8 engine breathing through dual exhausts. Backing this motor is a Ford\'s C-6 three-speed automatic transmission, (code U) with a 2.75:1 rear end (code 2). Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes with discs in front, cruise control, power windows, power locks, power sideview mirrors, power sunroof and rear window defroster. The carburetor was just rebuilt and starts and runs smoothly.

Inside, the car\'s headliner is in solid shape with working dome light. The split front bench with fold-down center armrests and rear bench seats are upholstered in white leather with red trim and need some TLC. There is plush red pile carpeting underneath along with a red dashboard and two-spoke steering wheel. The inner door panels are also done in white with red trim. The dashboard also has woodgrain appliqus. A column-mounted shift lever an Alpine AM/FM stereo with CD player complete the interior. A/C blows but in need of freon charge.

Competition to this Lincoln in 1975 included Buick\'s Riviera, Cadillac\'s Eldorado, Chrysler\'s Imperial, Dodge\'s Royal Monaco Brougham, Mercury\'s Montego and Oldsmobile\'s Toronado.

This car hails from the era of long hoods and stand-up hood ornaments, highway cruising and the California sounds on the pop chart.
If you\'re a Lincoln Continental Mark fan, this survivor Mark IV should pique your interest. Full-size Ford fans may also be interested. They should all hurry to MotoeXotica Classic Cars and check out this Mark IV today!
