4610 Pet Lane
This 1983 GMC, now made to look like a Chevrolet Silverado certainly looks distinctive on the outside, but the real treat is beneath the skin. It now has a big 500 cubic-inch V8 and an overdrive transmission that makes this bright red pickup powerful, versatile, and truly a custom machine.
You know this truck is different from the moment it first comes into view. The front end is an updated style borrowed from the related Suburban/Blazer after its final update. More than just a modern face, this truck looks absolutely sporty. It was upgraded to a Candy Apple Red with a nice metallic that radiates in the sunshine. And the gloss of the paint loves to highlight the crisp lines of the sheetmetal. The red is racecar-like, and so the burgundy racing stripes on the hood seem like the right addition. It's part of a powerful look that includes upgrades like the aerodynamic tonneau cover, large dual exhaust tips, and upgraded five spoke alloys. And there's even plenty of sophistication in this upgraded truck, too, with details like the shining chrome bumpers and color-matched windshield sunshade.
The upgrades continue inside. The seats are a set of high-back buckets with fold-down armrests. It basically looks like they were borrowed from the same Suburban that gave its front clip, and you know those Chevys are truly long-haul comfortable. And the smooth dash with wood-like trim has a luxurious look and feel. There are more worthwhile features, like an AM/FM/CD stereo, tinted windows, and sliding rear glass. But a truck like this is really built for the driver. We love how this generation pickup has an instrument panel that wraps around you, and the tilt steering column really makes it easy to get a commanding position. And that big AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach mounted below the dash is an instant indicator to get ready for something special in the engine bay.
This generation GM truck may have had some cool Chevy small-blocks under the hood, but they never saw Cadillac power. So this 500 cubic-inch V8 is unique for both its lineage and it's monster displacement. With this kind of upgrade, it's now unknown If the odometer reflects actual mileage. Topped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, the motor fires up readily, idles nicely, and makes a terrific rumble out of the dual exhaust. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit that knows how to handle a big motor like this, and at the same time, it also shits easily into overdrive comfort. Plus, with power steering, power brakes, and front discs, this powerful pickup is also an all-around driver.
This truck has the look of an upgraded and powerful machine, and the big Caddy V8 means it knows how to deliver on its impression. So if you want a special custom truck, call today! (This truck is titled and will be sold as a GMC)
