Beautifully original and respected, she’s the year aficionado’s often describe the Corvette as finally reaching sporting status. Number’s matching motor, era correct everything else, she’s a time capsule of automobile nirvana. Reported 87,253 original miles absolutely cooperate with her originality. A stunning example that is in outstanding condition and a sweet, honest performer.

It is believed she started life in California, transferred to Ohio for her restoration in the early 2000’s, completed and shipped to Stoneham, MA. Our Owner purchased her in 2015, bringing her to Dracut, MA where she tours the neighborhood and attends local events. Improvements to the restoration were performed to perfect originality and drivability. From correct carbs to the Wonderbar radio, she’s in a debate to be a museum piece or the Queen of Cars n Coffee. She comes with a clear and clean title in our Owner’s name.

Venetian Red with those famous white “coves” brought the ’56 model to true motoring class. She’s had just one repaint, performed in 2007 and she shows just grand today. From that famed aggressive chrome front grill to the aero-shaped rear trunk, these stylings were truly upgrades towards perfection. Factory hubcaps have survived the years and a newer convertible top keeps her historically correct. All other chrome and brightwork is outstanding. New to the year ’56 were, of all things, exterior door handles, which, of course, are near perfect. No expense has been spared to maintain her originality and quality.

Simply wonderful, a two-tone combination of red and beige, she’s OEM original, restored to perfection with an eye towards factory. Dash is excellent, as are upholstery components, carpet and console. Dash gauges, but for the speedometer, have all been replaced with factory-correct components in 2017. Wipers have been replaced as well. Again, first year for the Vette are design improvements including roll up windows, all functioning to perfection. A rare, original and really a measure of how she’s been treated is the signal seeking Wonderbar radio, unique to the Corvette and, in 1956, an additional cost, a staggering $198.90.

Powered by what is reported as her original, numbers matching 265 cid V8, 225 horse. She has the optioned dual quad twin four-barreled carburetors. They are era correct, but not the factory issued units, rebuilt and tuned to motoring perfection. As you review her clean and pure engine bay, take note of the stainless ignition covers and attended appearance. Backing, and what became an option in ’56, is a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, reported to be her original, factory issued unit. All running gear is original and performs flawlessly. Proper maintenance and attention to details bring a superb performer.

A thorough and exhaustive review of this beauty was performed by a third-party inspector. Results? Excellence is really the only applicable term. Beautiful cosmetics do have just a few very minor flaws. Mechanical review revealed a grand performer. She is a true driver yet near museum in her quality of originality and function. An outstanding report with just two items of note. Her blower motor controlling interior climate needs attention and one paint flaw was discovered, but really, that’s all, folks.

These cars were a bit primal in the day. No power steering or power brakes, big n huge steering wheels, they were really quite simple by today’s standards. Performance became a focus with most manufacturers producing over-head valve V8 motors and lotsa’ carburetion. Cars were becoming stylish to the space era, with vents and coves, smoothed rear aspects and fit tail lights. This stunning example of a first-generation Corvette shows pride of ownership, respect to heritage and a high measure of maintaining her road performance.
