This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air has all the awesome classic-style everywhere you want from the hardtop profile to the V8 under the hood. It all makes for a detailed two-tone icon that even has some nice rare features.

The Tri-Five Chevys are a true legend, and this one is the exact reason why. 1955 was the first year for the styling, and everybody looks for a Bel Air with a stylish pillarless hardtop profile. Of course, it only gets better on a two-tone example that correctly utilizes the premium Bel Air's trim to give a nice dividing line to the era-correct Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige. There's complete brightwork and straight sheet metal and it's done with an overall presentation that will turn heads but is not afraid to hit the road. This has all the best pieces, like rear fender skirts, factory wheel covers, and whitewall tires. It's such a detailed classic that you'd think this icon belongs in a museum, and you'd be right. We were told (but unverified) it was once part of a display collection. They took the time to properly get it reconditioned for driving, and so now can share this piece of history everywhere you cruise.

The color theme continues inside with the red and cream nicely intertwined for a thoughtful layout. Nice carpeting, a taut headliner, and comfy cloth inserts in the seats give this an inviting atmosphere. It's all part of the feeling that this Bel Air was made to cruise. In fact, while the factory AM radio is on display, an AM/FM/cassette stereo is in the glovebox for upgraded driving music.

The VIN has this born a VC-code V8 car. That's particularly important because the '55 Chevy launched the now-famous small block motor. And since this hardtop has such a great connection to history, it's great to have an era-correct 265 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. This has quite an honest presentation, right down to the air cleaner and generator. But it has been serviced correctly to remain a strong runner today. And you'll love the combination of vintage feeling and proper control that comes from the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. It appears as if this was even born with desirable options like power steering and overdrive. That just reinforces the feeling of a distinct classic that loves to cruise.

This is an absolute icon, and it has been correctly presented so that it's a rolling museum exhibit. So if you love to drive your history, you know you need this Chevy.
