Maverick 1973

Title Status --
Exterior Color Bright Red
Interior Color Black

This 1973 Ford Maverick offers a sporty silhouette in a lighter package than its Torino siblings, and so that seems like the right place to start with a full muscle car makeover. That's why you have bold paint, four-wheel disc brakes, a seriously powerful V8, and a six-speed upgrade to control it all.

The Maverick is an ideal car for a classic speed machine. It already looked great with flared fenders, a fastback-style profile, and an integrated rear spoiler. So it earns a quality respray of its factory-correct Bold Red. It makes for a straight, clean, and attractive package. This one also likes to give people some hints at how custom it really is. The front bumper is from an earlier year so it hugs the form; the side trim was expertly eliminated so you could see the body lines better; and those are the most trumpeted exhaust tips we've seen since the first Mustang GT. Plus, it's hard to miss the competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with extra meaty rear rubber.

The all-black interior looks great against the bold red exterior. Just like the outside, the full setup is clean and sporty. You have a great-looking set of bucket seats up front, and the pattern is matched on the rear bench and door panels. The classic dual-spoke steering wheel gives you a clear view to the crisp factory gauges, but that's not the whole story. There's AutoMeter readouts for oil pressure and engine temp cleanly installed within the dash. And the large AutoMeter Street Tach goes great with the stout aluminum shifter. These pieces tell you that this may have an excellent AM/FM/CD/USB stereo, but your real favorite soundtrack begins under the hood.

The engine bay also has a clean look of a solid investment. The Maverick was built to hold Ford's 302 cubic-inch Windsor V8, and so it's larger 351 variant fits easily, too. And this one is more than just added displacement. It's a full performance build that includes BluePrint Muscle Series aluminum heads, a roller camshaft, Edelbrock intake, and topped with a Demon 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor. Plus, headers add power while contributing to the rumble of the X-pipe dual exhaust. It's supported by the right pieces, like upgraded pulleys w/serpentine belt, Mallory distributor, Optima red top battery, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. It's a total power package, and you have the best in control, because the upgraded T56 six-speed manual transmission is 50% more gears than what you could get from Ford. As you look underneath, you'll see an upgraded sway bar up front and CalTracs traction bars in the rear. There's also a limited slip rear end, four-wheel disc brakes, and wide Mickey Thompson tires. So this Maverick was built to be an all-around better driver.

Complete with receipts, a Maverick offers distinction at the car show, and this custom one also gives you superiority at the stoplights. It's an unbeatable package, especially for this affordable price. Call today!!!
