We all love the El Camino because it's a distinct way to merge a comfy sedan and a versatile pickup. But this 1986 Chevrolet El Camino SS seems to do it all a bit better. Distinct colors, A/C comfort, an overdrive transmission, and better V8 power all come together to create a value-priced total package classic.
The two-tone silver and dark gray is a tasteful color combo that gets jolted by the wild streak of neon pinstriping. It has a good shine that will get you noticed at the stoplights, but this one isn't a trailer queen. After all, the liner paint in the bed makes this quite useful, and the overall feeling of this car is all about having an underlying useful feeling. So while you have chrome bumpers and SS trim for show, you also have a proper trailer hitch for practicality. And those upgraded 17-inch wheels give you some added polished flair and let you fit better modern tires.
You have a very original style interior finished in a comfy gray velour interior. You can choose to seat three across or fold down the armrest for individual comfort for two. This is a well-done package with plenty of appeal built-in thanks to the right features, like an AM/FM/CD stereo w/iPod input and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. And the classic Chevrolet dual-spoke steering wheel mounted on a tilt column for added comfort.
But what really makes this a great driver's El Camino is under the hood. Chevy's 350 cubic-inch V8 is larger than what came stock and this also has a four-barrel carburetor on top. It's a smooth driver, and the upgrade to a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive gives it long-haul potential. And power steering, power brakes, front discs, and car-like coil spring rear suspension are all why the El Camino has far more appeal than a standard classic pickup.
This is the distinct El Camino with the features that make it easy to drive and easy to love. So when it's also so obtainable, you know you need to hurry if you want to take it home. Call today!!!
