DESCRIPTION

1986 GMC C10 Pickup

The model year 1960 brought the Chevrolet pickup into the modern era with its C/K series lineup. The "C" designation identified two-wheel-drive pickups, and the "K" identified 4X4s. The most common pickup was the C10, a half-ton truck with a 6.5- or 8-foot cargo box. The C/K series trucks remained essentially the same vehicle during a series of conservative redesigns, until 1997, when the 1998 Silverado replaced it.

For consignment a truck starting its life on a farm, as a work truck. Eventually it found its way to the northeast and became the brainchild of a builder who saw in his mind what it is in today's form. A pro street rodded truck, with all the fixings to out race most challengers, will run on 93 Octane pump gas.

Exterior
To go with its "blown" engine, a lit candle look, starting with the custom grille, painted bumper, and white hot, to yellow hot, to orange hot flames, lick themselves rearward until we arrive at the deep red which covers the remainder of this truck. A little lowered suspension wise, and a custom-made aluminum bed dripping with all the red paint, shows the use of stock wheel tubs for the large 15 x 14 Weld wheels with 33" tall rear tires. Up front 15 x 6 wheels wrapped with radials. A custom flip up metal bed cover reveals a battery in the bed, but otherwise just miles of ribbed red aluminum. The rear of the truck includes a large wing style spoiler, shades of NASCAR truck series, a shaved rear bumper and a parachute attached.

Interior
With a black and red two-tone bench seat encased within a roll bar interior, we see a stripped-down version of the original dash. A B & M ratchet shifter sits snugly in front of the bench. The dash with its original gauges and configuration, sits behind a Sport Comp brand column mounted tachometer and shift light. Tinted windows abound, and a metal roof is noted. A peek at the door panels reveals them to be mostly original. Power steering and power brakes are installed.

Drivetrain
A 454ci V8 fitted with a hydraulic roller cam, an 871 BDS Supercharger, Hooker competition headers, and a dual 4-barrel carb setup, you are ready to do some ground pounding. A TH 400 3-speed automatic transmission is attached to the healthy mill, and puts power to a Dana 60 rear, with a 4.56 gear.

Undercarriage
Showing a nice total rust free, with a little patina for age slipped in, the under frame and tubs are all in very good, structurally sound condition. With ladder bar 3 link rear suspension, most of the power goes right to the ground. The front includes 2" drop spindles, and 215/75R15 tires on either end. Front disc, and rear drum brakes, along with the parachute will be sufficient to slow you down to grab your Wally. Flowmaster exhaust snake their way rear-ward.
