DESCRIPTION
The 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 was the top trim level offered that blended European styling with performance. This well loved and garage kept car is ready to turn the key and drive. This car looks like a sleeper but is surprisingly fast when you punch it.
Gets good rubber at the stop light. Engine is a strong original 351 Windsor M Code Hi Po with Edelbrock Performer cam, intake and carburetor. Electronic ignition, new wiring harness under hood and some chrome dress up. Headers and dual exhaust give a great throaty exhaust note. Professionally built Ford AOD street race transmission and aluminum drive shaft. Ford 9 inch rear with 4.11 gears and Eaton TruTrac positraction with 31 spline axles. Suspension at all four corners replaced with great operating drum brakes and power steering. Cooper Cobra 60 series radial tires with aluminum American Racing rims. Mechanicals are completely sorted out. Interior is redone with a blend of new and used parts to give it a vintage feel and look. Hood scoop and rear deck wing pays tribute to the Eliminator performance package available in the day. Paint job is twenty five years old. Included are 1000.00 worth of parts I have collected over the last eight years.
