DESCRIPTION
A 1967 Pontiac GTO is always going to be a truly desirable car when you have radiant red paint, a cool hardtop profile, and plenty of V8 power under the hood. But when you get nice extras like the overdrive transmission and an awesome origins story, it makes this GTO the one you know you need to take home.
This coupe has the kind of classic story we all want. It was said to have been found in a field in New Mexico. So we all have a mental image of this one sitting out on a dry prairie just waiting to be discovered. And what you\'re looking at now is the consignor\'s detailed resurrection. The red paint has a beautiful and deep metallic element that loves to pop every time it\'s now out in the southwest sunshine. Bright chrome and clean lines all add to the look of a good investment. The hood scoop, bright dual exhaust tips and a wider set of rear tires on the classic Rally II wheels make sure you remember this is a power car. In fact, the whole attitude is about being a sharp-looking classic that also doesn\'t lose its road-ready sensibilities.
The black interior shows off more of the solid restoration investment. The upholstery, carpeting, dash, and other fundamentals look dark and clean. It\'s quite inviting, and you can even make it a better cruiser if you choose by restoring the air conditioning (likely just a recharge) and adding a modern stereo of your choosing. But the real focus of this GTO is about being a driver\'s car. You have the front bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, upgraded auxiliary readouts, and a B&M floor shifter.
Under the hood is a 400 cubic-inch V8, and that\'s the heart of what makes a GTO the granddaddy of muscle cars. This has upgrades for power like a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake. But also don\'t forget, this one wants to enhance its cruising attitude and the upgrades reflect that, too. So the aluminum radiator helps keep it running cool, and the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission has highway-friendly overdrive. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you have a solid base for a fun-driving Pontiac hardtop.
This GTO field find has been resurrected to be a sharp-looking muscle car cruiser. So it\'s an iconic coupe with a story to tell. Call today!!!
