A Mach 1 in disguise! This fastback was ordered with the M-code 351 motor. I love the cleaner look without the big Mach 1 rocker trim. Claimed to be a 3 owner car. Sold new at Nelson County Motors, Lovingston VA. Then it lived in North Carolina.
EXTERIOR: I really think this is an attractive car. The lines of a 69-70 fastback are unbeatable. This one has a slick red paint, front and rear spoilers, window louvers, hood pins and awesome choice of tires/wheels. Has new 15 inch chrome Magnum wheels and Good Year Polyglass reproduction tires. Upfront the grill, bumper and trim is all very nice. Looking down the sides, the car is very straight. The paint has a very smooth, glossy finish. Stainless trim around the windows is straight and shiny. In back it has new taillights, bumper, reverse lights and emblems. The door jambs are painted slick, new weatherstrips and sill plates.
INTERIOR: Very nice inside. I just hopped in here and I noticed the interior lights work. It has a new dash pad, not a glue on cap. Overhead the visors and headliner look new. Down below the carpets have been replaced, has reproduction Pony floor mats and the chrome shifter sparkles. The door panels, armrests have been replaced. The upholstery is replaced. Any plastic trim is very nice. Has a modern stereo with 6x9 speakers in the back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has 351 Cleveland big block motor. Upgrades include an aluminum intake, big Holley carb with electric choke, MSD electronic ignition and headers. All the components look to be proper. Radiator has a new shroud and cap, new washer. It features power steering and brakes. The engine bay is all clean metal with a smooth satin black finish. Bottom of the hood and the jamb is gloss red. New fender bolts, hinges are painted separately.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted real slick red, new weatherstrip. Trunk compartment is painted black. Has insulation over the fuel tank and new rubber mat.
UNDERSIDE: Not a detailed show car underneath but it is solid and proper. The floors and frame rails are clean metal. Suspension looks good. Has dual exhaust with glass pack style mufflers. Has FMX (Cruise-O-Matic) trans and 3.00 rear end. Disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are hooked up.
It also includes a folder of misc receipts and literature. Has copy of a Marti report. What a great looking car!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
