DESCRIPTION

1972 Chevrolet Nova 2 Door Sedan

For consignment, a race ready car that has consignor stated 1,894 miles since the build and is looking for a new pilot. Body and paint be damned, we have an engine to build! And here we have a car that is just waiting for you to choose a color. Or, if you like the mean, matte finish of primer, keep as is and ride into the night!

Exterior
Various shades and layers of dark gray primer cover this car for a rough \'n rowdy presence. There are plenty of imperfections including gap issues, filler issues, and minor rust. The body and paint were last on the list because as we\'ll learn, lots of work went into the rest of the car. Upgraded LED headlights with halo rings add to the meanness of the thing and three cowl mounted gauges live in the shadow of the enormous cowl hood. The rear taillights, valance and bumper are in great shape. The 15-inch Weld Rodlite wheels are staggered with cavernous deep dish wheels in the back and skinnies up front.

Interior
It\'s all about speed here and that starts with the sheet aluminum door cards. Who needs a fancy armrest when you\'re heading down the track? Vinyl racing bucket seats are laced with RJS harnesses tied to a full roll cage. Rear seats have been replaced with a tubbed rear deck covered nicely in black carpet which continues throughout the car\'s interior. The stock looking steering wheel is removable, and the custom aluminum dash holds essential gauges, toggle switches and indicator lights. An AutoMeter tach with shift light is mounted high on the dash not far from the fire extinguisher and MSD ignition box. A Hurst pistol grip shifter handle is tied to a B&M Pro Ratchet shifter, far from pedestrian. The headliner looks like it hasn\'t been touched since 1972, and is in fine condition.

Drivetrain
Not original to the car, the consignor stated 396ci V8 has been worked including being bored .60 over, receiving a Comp Cam part number 11-701-9, and having the cylinder heads reworked. An 850cfm carburetor sits on an Edelbrock intake and power is routed through a TH350 3-speed automatic with a reverse valve body and finds its way back to a Ford 9\" rear with 4.11 gears and Positraction. Headers send the steam south, while front disc with a line lock take center stage with rear drums in a supporting role. Our consignor states the aluminum radiator, electric water pump, and wiring harness are new. The fuel cell is located in the truck. A folder with details will accompany the car.

Undercarriage
A narrowed rear end allows the massive rear tires to tuck and ladder bar suspension with coil overs keep them planted. The driveshaft goes through a safety loop. The headers are wrapped in heat tape and terminate in open glasspack-style mufflers. The front suspension is equipped with independent A arms and coil springs. Aside from some typical surface rust, some floor pan patching, and a few drops of oil on the pan, it\'s a clean underside.

Drive-Ability
We respect the little hamlet of Morgantown so we didn\'t start this car first thing in the morning. When we eventually did, its roar echoed through the hills and valleys of our fair town. It\'s raucous but then, you won\'t be taking this to the drive thru at Chick-fil-A. We babied the car around the test loop where it\'s evident it had some decent get up and go. This car is for straight lines, so we won\'t be rolling through cones with it. For what it is, it rides fine and you\'re securely fastened, so all is well save for the horn nottooting. To the quiet cows of Morgantown, we apologize.

Here\'s a mile hero that is ready for your custom exterior ideas. Or leave the \"murdered out\" look and intimidate everyone at the track. The interior is done for you and the engine is stout but could be worked even more if that\'s the road you take. Whatever road it is, buckle up buttercup, it\'s gonna be a rowdy ride.
