Sleek and sporty on the outside, absolutely luxurious with leather and A/C on the inside, and now this also has hardy Chevy V8 power. So this 1983 Jaguar XJS is a terrific total package that's being offered for an irresistible price.
The first impression this one shows off its classic elegance. After all, the long hood, low-slung body, and flying buttress rear are part of the classic European grand touring experience. The bodywork looks nice, and everything is well-respected, right down to the classic Jaguar medallion on the hood. The silver paint has a timeless sense of style, and so the whole coupe has that ideal look of old-world luxury with just the right amount of aged-in style. Like an aristocrat's tweed driving cap. And there's just something special about the pure elegance of the golden lattice alloy wheels.
The XJS was built to be a pure grand touring machine, and so there's plenty of room to get comfortable in the front bucket seats. The blue leather has a tasteful style, and the armrest center console is quite handy. There are good features like a power driver's window (the passenger side will need servicing), power steering, and air conditioning. There is room for you to make improvements if you so desire, and the value price certainly leaves room in your budget for that. But what we love is how the whole setup remains very stock Jaguar. So no one had to do any crude revisions when making the upgrade in the engine bay.
It will be fun to tilt the hood forward and show off the American heart in this very British classic. There has been a longstanding tradition of dropping Chevy V8s in Jags. In fact, Jaguar's V12 motor was already accepting GM's stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. So now you have a great American engine and trans combo. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has a classic Rochester four-barrel carburetor set up right now to deliver the kind of smooth driving experience you want in an XJS. Of course we also all know how hardy these are and all the great upgrades available. So we bet there are plenty of you plotting a pretty cool sleeper. And no matter how you choose to enjoy this, it's an appealing driver because all the best parts of the Jaguar are still intact. That means a European-tuned fully-independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.
This coupe is the ideal blend of a reliable heart and precision legs. So at a price like this, you know you have to act quickly to catch the special cat. Call today!!!
