DESCRIPTION
1929 Ford Model A
The Ford Model A can be found in many iterations: coupe, to a roadster, to a sedan to a pickup. Henry Ford had a solid base in the Model A and appeased the masses with various options on that frame. Also, as with many older versions of cars, so many visual customization modifications have been done, that the original showroom look has been long gone. In the case of this car though, mostly original intent as well as actual visual parts to this build, have been retained.
For consignment a 1929 Fordor Sedan which went through a restoration about 40 years ago and is now showing some wear and tear. It will need a little TLC to get it back to very nice, but everything is there to do so.
Exterior
Green steel panels are straight and show slight rusting but have patina and some scratching. Straw wheels were sandblasted, and powder coated (including spare) present with new lug nuts and hubcaps and are wrapped with new Firestone wide whitewall tires and new tubes. Running boards connect the front and rear fenders that are covered in black, and the boards have a Ford step plate installed. These show the same as the body with some scratches. 2 standard headlights flank a chromed radiator surround, with a black grille. Chromed bumpers in original style, are adding bling to either end of the car, and showing areas of rust and pitting, particularly on the rear of this car. There is a large trunk attached in front of the spare, and the brackets that support the trunk show significant surface rust. A single taillight brings up the rear. The front windshield can be pushed out for a nice flow of air as you are motoring through the city. At the time of the restoration a textured top was installed, and a sun visor is seen above the windscreen on the exterior.
Interior
Yards of YooHoo (Light brown) Mohair cover the front bench which has been relocated backwards 2 inches. Door panels, and rear bench seat sport this same Mohair fabric, and the doors offer expandable pockets for storage. A felt headliner stretched from front to rear, and door to door is in excellent condition. Rebuilt floors covered with new brown carpet which shows some wear and floods the floor. A green dash, and a front metal panel to this dash painted black, houses the Ford chromed instrument cluster in the center. Within this cluster are a gas gauge, amp gauge, ignition and speedometer.
Drivetrain
The inline 4 cylinder weighing in at 210ci, a 1-barrel carburetor, and 3-speed manual transmission are showing surface rust, and not original but plenty of cosmetic work to do here under the hood.
An older restoration, now in need of an upgrade to get it to perfection. Car runs and has had some recent maintenance.
