DESCRIPTION

1977 Chevrolet C10 Long Bed Pickup

For consignment, a survivor of sorts in the form of a 1977 C10 with a title verified 87,784 actual miles, a small block V8 and long bed. If we all had a crystal ball, we would have packed a warehouse with these about 25 years ago, before they became as cool as they are now. As ubiquitous as they were back then, today they turn heads as stand out relics of a time when cars and trucks actually looked different from each other.

Exterior
Shiny Light Blue coats the truck uniformly and contrasts nicely with the white painted bumpers and white cab roof. Deep 15-inch wheels with wide white walls really catch your attention and give the truck a unique profile. The grille has some pitting and chipping paint, but appears to be intact. Rain guards and large side mirrors flank each window and the door handles complete the trifecta of door mounted bling. Its square body namesake is hammered home by the rear of the truck with its wide tailgate, simple square taillights, and big bumper which is slightly downturned on one side. This one comes with a bedliner meaning you can use the bed worry free! The body is straight, clean, and devoid of any major flaws.

Interior
Blue plastic door panels show a bit of wear, but are in overall good condition. Window cranks control the big windows while a latch works the vent window. The vinyl bench seat has white inserts surrounded by the period vinyl with a metallic sheen, all in great shape. The Chevrolet steering wheel leads to the C10 dash, wrapped in plastic and canted toward the driver with a compact gauge cluster on the left and the vent controls, AM/FM radio, and storage compartment on the right. The rest of the dash is beautiful blue steel and vinyl with a strip of wood applique to remind you you\'re a little bit country. Plush, low pile blue carpet covers the floors and looks good while the blue painted steel ceiling is epic in its simplicity.

Drivetrain
A 305ci V8 fits easily in the engine bay, (you could almost fit another in there!), and is topped by a 2-barrel carburetor and tied to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power back to the 12 bolt rear. Visually, the engine bay is essentially driver quality, but the bright orange valve covers really pop! Surface rust has grown on untreated metal surfaces but nothing that would impede the function.

Undercarriage
Plenty of deep surface rust on the frame, axle, and driveshaft, rendering a \"driver quality\" description under here as well. We see some new bushings on the sway bars and the aftermarket exhaust looks good as it trails the length of the truck, enters a pair of Flowmaster mufflers, then exits via big, straight tips split on either side of the license plate. Plenty of gunk on the inner wheel components but the shocks look fairly new. Coil springs link to independent front suspension while leaf springs float the back.

Drive-Ability
Black running boards allow us to climb into the cab with ease. This was basic transportation with a purpose back in the day and it\'s amazingly simple compared to even base model pickup trucks of today. The 305 cranked to life and the exhaust is pleasantly robust. We row the common shifter towards us and down and put the long bed into Drive. The ride is just fine and handles our test loop and its imperfections well. The fewer the functions present means the fewer things to break and in this case, everything works!

Square bodies are cool from any angle. And this blue beauty checks all our boxes for a great ride, a good looker, and on a ladder of ascension for collectability. It doesn\'t take a fortune teller to know that trucks in this condition are getting scarcer each year. This is drivable as is or can be further refined into a show truck if that\'s the road you want to take. Either way, it will get you there!
