DESCRIPTION

This is an exact clone of a factory built Hemi Superbird. Restored to concourse condition. The "Winged Warriors" were built for one reason....to win NASCAR races. The rules said they had to be available to the public. The problem was that the public thought they were ugly and dealers couldn't sell them. Today they are among the most desirable of all muscle cars. I was just at an auction where a #s match Hemi Bird sold for $345,000 and it was not as nice.

EXTERIOR: Fit and finishes are amazing. I am sure it's far better than it was new. Every square inch is straight. All the body gaps are precision fit. Doors shut like a new car. The nose fits right on, headlight doors work. It has an original rear wing. It also has an original rear window and fillers. The Hemi orange paint is polished out like orange glass. Jambs are just as slick. All the weather strips and window seals are new. The windshield, lenses and vinyl top are new. The stainless trim is polished like chrome. The chrome bumper, handles and mirror are new. The 15 inch rally wheels are new, extra wide in back. Wrapped in BFG tires.

INTERIOR: It looks brand new from carpet to headliner, even the little details. In front of me is a pristine dash area. The chrome bezels and knobs sparkle, gauges look new, no cut or broken plastic. It has an original am radio, new glove box liner with working light. New deluxe steering wheel. New carpet on the floor with embroidered Road Runner floormats. New upholstery, headrests, door panels and armrests. The headliner is tight as a drum, new visors, mirror and working dome light. I looked under the dash, it is even pristine down there! New wiring harness.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Yes, it's a Hemi! $30,000 invested in the 426 motor. Mostly a stock build with a little hotter cam. Correct rebuilt dual 4 barrel carbs with correct heat tubes. It is highly detailed throughout the engine bay. The metal is spotlessly clean, the orange paint is just as smooth and glossy as the body. It has a Mopar radiator, correct cap, shroud and reproduction hoses and clamps. The motor has the original style crinkle finished valve covers and the big Hemi air cleaner. All the brackets, coil, alternator, wiring, vacuum hoses are pristine. The wiper motor was concourse restored, the washer bottle and pump are new. It features power steering and power brakes. Battery is bolted down properly. It runs strong, the exhaust sound at an idle is perfect.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is pristine. All the metal is clean and painted a smooth and glossy orange. It has the correct bumper jack a Good Year Polyglass tire on a restored rim. It also has the scissors jack assembly for the front of the car. Right down to the down to the wiring, decals, weatherstrip, it's like brand new.

UNDERSIDE: The bottom of this car is restored like new. Every component is restored. The front end suspension and steering is completely rebuilt and detailed. The rear suspension is all new, has upgraded coil over shocks. The brake system is completely restored. New hoses, lines, e-brake assembly etc. Replaced exhaust system with crossover pipe and correct tips. The fuel system is new, the tank is polished stainless. Bottom of the motor is immaculate, starter is new. The 727 Torqueflite automatic was completely rebuilt. The driveshaft is restored, new U-joints. In back it has an NOS Dana 60 rear end that was completely rebuilt. It has 4.10 posi gears. The floors are rock solid original with factory undercoat. They were prepped and given a light coat to freshen it up.

Because it's a tribute, this car costs half of what a real one in this condition sells for. You cannot tell it from an original without decoding numbers. If you appreciate detail, you will love this car.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.

Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
