DESCRIPTION

Listen to almost any Beach Boys album, and you\'re sure to find a song about a hot rod. What would make someone sing about a car? Simple. Love. While \'Little Deuce Coupe\' may have been about a 1932 Ford, we can all but guarantee that this 1931 Ford Coupe we have for you today is worth at least a song or two if you are musically inclined. Its original body panels were wholly disassembled for bodywork and paint, and it was repainted with beautiful (and unique) Sahara Beige PPG paint. Big sixteen-inch Rocket wheels up front and even bigger eighteen inches out back are the only things that draw your eye away from the massive exhaust pipes coming straight off the exposed engine block.

Inside, a masterful job was done to the interior with an entire high-end mauve custom leather interior by Kings Auto Upholstery in Roanoke, Virginia. The dashboard and gauges come from a 1950 Nash. The speedometer isn\'t functional at the moment, so we can\'t guarantee \"she\'ll do 140 with the top-end floored,\" However, it may feel like she can, thanks to what\'s hiding under the hood.

\"Just a little deuce coupe with a flathead mill.\" Again, the year might be one-off, but the engine is spot on. A rebuilt Ford Flathead V-8 complete with Edelbrock heads and intake and a Comp Cams Thumper camshaft. However, this car does validate the \'deuce\' coupe name when it comes to its fuel delivery, which just so happens to be dual two-barrel carburetors, while long tube headers feed that short-but-sweet side exit exhaust. \"She\'s got a competition clutch with the four on the floor\" sounds about right, with one minor update. Though we don\'t know about the clutch for sure, power gets sent through a GM T5 five-speed manual transmission donated from a 1980 Camaro, however the shifter knob has a 4-speed shift pattern on it, so clearly the owner is familiar with Golden Oldies.

The custom unibody construction sits beautifully on the solid axle up front and the 4-link adjustable coilover suspension out back thanks in part to a Super Bell four-inch drop axle. This car also sports separate Wilwood master cylinders with a proportioning balance bar to regulate the 1946 Ford brakes up front and the 1968 brakes in the rear.

We can\'t say for sure if this car is hard to steer or if it gets rubber in all four (five) gears, but what we do know is that when the Beach Boys sang about their Little Deuce Coupe, that car probably looked and felt a lot like this 1931 Ford Coupe. Come take one look and you too will be singing, \"I\'m not bragging babe, so don\'t put me down\" in no time. Call today!
