GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this stunning 1976 Monte Carlo for consideration. This beautiful G body comes in a custom PPG Brandywine-Red over Gold paint job (3 Stage Paint) complemented by a red interior. Regarding the paint job, the vehicle was fully stripped, prepped, and done properly from top to bottom. The vehicle is powered by its 502ci Ram Jet V8 crate engine and paired to a Tremec Magnum T56 G-Force prepped Rockland Standard gear 6-speed transmission (less than 4,000 miles on the build). This vehicle is in magnificent condition, the body is free of any rust or damage and the current owner has claimed the vehicle has never been in any kind of inclement conditions. The 502 turns over and runs like a top, the transmission shifts smoothly with no hesitation and is strong through the gears. Some upgrades to this Monte include; Hotchkis / Global West Upper Control Arms and 1 3/8" (H) Front Sway Bar, QA1 (shock stocker) from BMR Fabrications - Double Adjustable Shocks all around, Hotchkis PErformance (HR Performance), Rear Super Sway Bay / Anti-Roll, Ford 9inch rear end with 2.97 gear ratio, Hurst trans brake/shifter, Wilwood brakes all the way around, and Hooker long tube headers. This Beautiful G body comes with all the documentation and photos showing the build process. This is a turn-key vehicle that will not disappoint, please call or email us today.

All GM intermediate-sized cars including the Monte Carlo were downsized for the 1978 model year in response to the 1973 Arab Oil Embargo and CAFE requirements. The 1978 model was 700-800 lb lighter and 15 inches shorter than the 1977 model. The 1978 model also had more interior and trunk space than the earlier 1977 model. The engines offered in previous years were dropped in favor of a standard 231 CID V6 built by Buick or an optional Chevrolet 305 CID V8. New one-piece wall-to-wall carpeting was standard. The three-speed manual transmission reappeared for the first time in several years as standard equipment on the base model with the V6 engine, and the automatic was optional. The optional V8 and all Landau models came standard with the automatic. A four-speed manual transmission with floor shifter was optional with the 305 V8, the first time a four-speed manual was offered on the Monte Carlo since 1971.
