The setup offered owners the weather protection of a coupe, or a convertible-like driving experience with the top removed and rear window folded down, all with the added safety and stability of a rollbar. Porsche later introduced a fixed glass window Targa in 1969, with the soft-window remaining available via special order through 1971.
