1940 Ford Woody discovered in the woods
you know ....its totally amazing what can be restored from so very little, and yet rebuilt to look just as great if not better then original...it blows my mind!
hope the guy that plans on fixin this "could be nice ride" isnt a smoker, because we could be seeing the same thing all over again.
I am almost positive that what is there was the only steel body wise. The rear section and roof had wood panels and wood framework. They did have metal rear fenders.
Look here, http://www.hotrodscustomstuff.com/40woody-09.html
I'm guessin there would have been some metal framework to hold the wood together on these beauties when new...but I could be wrong ...who knows maybe the wood wasnt even there before the fire hit....?
sure is'nt much left after the wood is gone huh?
awesome job saving this one!now thats what i call a real carnut, one who acts on potential!
Great find ! I am glad you saved her. Looks like a good project .
Thats amazing.....way to go.
If you look at the driver’s fender, the firemen had put three or four ax marks on the top of the fender. Amazing enough, the frame is good and a lot of the original parts were found. Only had to take a couple trees out to remove and they were used as ground rollers. Owner has already hammered out one of the rear fenders. You know how hard those are to find?
"Forget the map Honey, I know a shortcut." Sometime later... "I think we got a flat?" And here we are today!
