The Olds in the foreground is the pace car. Note it has hubcaps, headlights and no number on the door. That Olds and Packard behind it were some of the fastest cars on the track in those days.

Look at that convertiable! Without seatbelts you would fly out in a crash! Some cars don't even have numbers. Old time racing!

I really enjoy this picture. I don't live to far away from Darlington SC. I really enjoy going over there and enjoy the museum at the race track there. If you are a race or car fan you must stop there. They have a bunch of race cars that was used there. It really cool

I truly enjoy Oldride.com and all of it's different windows. It brings back many memories. I used to race on the Old Pony Express circuit out of St. Joseph, Missouri and Savannah. Mo. When I look at these wonderful old photos I think about Council Bluff's Iowa, Riverside, Mo. Marshall, Mo. Savannah, Mo. Topeka, Kansas, Savannah and st. Joseph, Mo and the hundreds of others during the 1950's through 1970's. I often wonder if anyone remembers any of the big names in stock car and super modifieds of yesteryears. At this time in my senior years, I am involved in Orphan Classics and trying to get people into supporting those cars you do not see on the Classic Circuits much anymore unless you go to one just for a select type. I am trying to bring back the old style get togethers.
