What a difference 30+ years can make, these cars were definitely bodacious in their time and at the beginning of the 70’s muscle cars were at their peak and the birth of big-blocks and hood scoops were upon us and every American automaker had a muscle car in their lineup. Unfortunately, the oil crisis of 73 caused sales of muscles cars to dwindle and smaller, compact cars to increase in popularity. Still, the average cost of a new car was around $3500 and a gallon of gas went for 36¢. Many great cars came out of the 70’s, and are still sought after by many collectors. Too bad some of these are sitting here to rust away but they still remind us of the great times and memories of our youth, but as you can see by the looks of them now that it takes a little imagination to make it so.
