1928 Ford Truck converted to a tractor....
All though it appears to have the greatest traction ever, those steel wheels where not that great. The doodlebugs generally didn't have low enough gearing unless they installed a second transmission, which often made the frame so long that you could not get them turned around easily. With the standard three speed most of them had you could not get much of a plow moving. When you did have the power it was not hard to get the wheels to spin because they are so wide. The only way to stop the spin was to add more weight, which would make it sink in soft soils. Hey, but they do look cool don't they?
this is called a doodlebug. During WWII farmer couldn't get tractors or afford them. They built tractors out of Model A's and the like. Cost almost nothing to build. Not much of a tractor though.
Who needs 4 wheel drive with rear wheels like these.
Well....you'd never get stuck.
