1966 Ford Falcon Sports Coupe

I bought my first new car – a 1966 Falcon Coupe - from Tasca Ford, (Yes, that Tasca) in Providence, RI, while I was at Officer Candidate School, Newport, RI. An "old man's" car - 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree, no air, no power - as I couldn't afford the insurance on a V8 with a 4 speed. When I was nearing 60, I told my bride I want to buy a fun car - a 66 Falcon, '79 Chevy Monza and/or a dune buggy. Nothing caught our attention until early February 2004. Volunteers of America placed an ad in Auto & RV announcing the auction of a white, 1966, 289, 4 bbl. carb, C4, Falcon Sports Coupe. My father was a midget race car driver. His favorite car was number 24. The Falcon was number 24 on the auction list. I knew I'd win the bid on February 7, 2004. A friend had a pearl white 1991 Cadillac. I told him if I ever have a classic, it will be 1991 Cadillac Pearl White. We had Bedford North Lawrence Vocational School Body Shop Class paint it pearl white. I saw it during the paint preparation
