409impala can you tell me where this car is located, I would like to make the guy an offer. Maybe I can breath some life in it instead of it dying a slow rusty death.I live in Tennessee, maybe I can locate the other cars this guy has.April 10, 2013. My e-mail is [email protected], Rick.
Dad bought the last '62 on the showroom floor when the '63s came out, and drove it until his passing in '77. Mom would let no-one near it until 1981 when I began doing little things to get it going again. Fastforward to 1986 when I came back from Germany serving with the US Army. Found out my heiffer of a sister had sold it because I "wasn't working on it". Kinda hard to work on it from 4 or 5 thousand miles away isn't it? Been looking for a 4 door 1962 ever since. "Old Faithful" had a 390 T-bird V8, and 4Bbl carb, with Cruise-O-Matic Trans. Chestnut Brown with Windsor White roof. Whoever has her now, I hope they are taking care of her.
What is so funny about this car is that the owner pulled a 440 magnum from a Charger and since he didn't have a place to store the motor he set it in the engine bay of the convertible to keep the rain off. So when we lifted the tarp off was this huge mopar block! Very strange indeed!!!
This car is about 6 miles from my house...it is for sale but the guy is kinda wishy washy on the price...he has about 15 cars at this lot and alot more on some private farmland up in TN. The hood was pulled off and the radiator was stolen. The body is fairly straight..no floorpans whatsoever. The engine and tranny is gone but I'm like most people and think this could be a sweet ride.
Oh My God..... '62 ford galaxie Convertible! I can't tell from this if it's an XL or not, but something tells me it is. whoever knows where this car is needs to pull it out of the weeds and give it a re-birth! this is too nice to let rot!
