Porsche redefined reliability when they introduced the 1984 911 3.2 liter Carrera with it's hydraulic cam chain tensioners. In fact, that's when the press first branded the 911 engine as "bullet proof. Well, the next year, 1985, they improved the seats to a very comfortable design they continued to use through 1998, and in 1986 they improved the air conditioning considerably with larger vents, bigger blowers, a dual condenser set up, and a rotory air compressor which freed up a bit more HP, while making it's operator quite a bit more comfortable! 1986 was also the last year for the light weight 915 transmission which had sucessfully powered Porsche street and race cars since 1974! All in all, a good year to own! They built just 2,619 coupes in '86, and this one is #2057. This one was factory ordered in Grand Prix White, with burgundy interior, option #220,Locking differential,241, Shorter shifting travel, 341, Central locking system, 454, Automatic speed control, 473, Factory spoilers, 473, Power Left Seat, 474, Sport shock absorbers (Bilsteins),and 650, Sunroof. Upgrades include, late style Halogen headlights, Ruf style chin spoiler, a Borla S/S dual outlet exhaust, an Autothority Chip and air filter, BBS 3 piece light alloy wheels, a Momo steering wheel, and shift knob, and a high end stereo CD system.
