This is our families classic 1983 Mercedes 500 sec, similar to the one in the movie Road House with Patric Swayze. I have owned this great sec for nearly 10 years. I purchased this car back in 2002 while I was in Germany. I had it painted back in 2003in Augusta, Ga, but shop did not do a good job around fuel tank cap, therefore the clear coat came off. It looks fantastic for its age though. You could drive this car across country and be good. The 500 sec is and was the only off assembly line, hand made, custom Mercedes Benz There were only about 6500 made in 1983, and cost $57,000 Dollars plus freight and taxes It currently only has 132,000 miles, however the Odometer stop working about year ago.. Runs great! Shifts great! They can run 500k Has clean oil and filter as always. It gets driven about 600 to 1000 miles per year. Runs and drives EXCELLENT. Power windows all work, the rear wing windows are power and come down also, making it a true hard top coupe. The AC compressor was replaced last year, so AC blows cold. The Mercedes has a good sound system with CD player, USB and AV connection with 500 watt.amp, 2 Infinity 10 inch subwoofers.
