I am putting up for sale a running 1953 Chevy 235 Blue Flame (yes its was painted orange when I got the car. lol) Motor cast #3701481 with a date code J133 Oct 13 53 serial # LAQ 546928 the Heads cast Number 3836848 with a date code of C50 high-pressure 235 - the Blue Flame Six Block: 3701481 Powerglide (PG) Block: 3701481 (Corvette, until about 16 Oct 1953) Has a New fuel pump, Water Pump, and a New Carb(300.00), New wire and plugs, New Coil 40,000v and Electric points Pertronix IGNITOR(125.00). I converted to 12 volts but the starter is still 6 volts.... I will supply the original generator that came with the car (If you want it) as I am keeping the alternator that is shown on the pictures Alternator is NOT included. Story behind this engine is as follows... I bought a 1948 Fleetmaster from a Body shop that was being restored -- (since 1999). They informed me it had a newer, rebuild engine in it. I was able to get the engine running with little issues, and very Little smoke. I did some upgrades as you can see from above and I have driven it back a forth from work and 2 car show too. I put up like 200 miles. starts great runs OK. Smokes alittle if sitting for a week on start up The vacuum advance on the outside does freaks me out a little... I realized that driving the car on the expressways will be challenging because of the gearing, so I am going to install a 4 speed overdrive (200r4) and new rear-end. I was then offered a free small block Chevy very reasonably soooo. I am selling the 235.... I Might do a Far local delivery as long as you have an something to lift the engine engine out of my van.... $.50 a mile I do have a video of starting and running of this engine... I in the process of taking it out to install a Mustang II front end. I do have it up for sale on other sites ..
