| Vehicle Description |
| MotoeXotica is now offering this truly awesome and very rare collector bike - 1961 Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster. This bike is in very good condition and is ready to be added to your existing collection or rider. This Harley has been very well taken care of and it shows. The bike has never been laid down. The previous Oklahoma owner informed me that the engine and transmission were both professionally rebuilt with less than 250 miles. The bike was purchased from the original owner making this a sporty a two owner bike! This motorcycles impressive V-twin engine out powered most competitors of the era and it still has that great Harley grumble. The black paint looks great with no major imperfections. There are a few very minor chips and scratches from normal use. The black stepped seat looks great showing only some very minor wear. After its 1957 introduction, Harleys XL Sportster gained a more sporting version called the XLCH in 1959 -- "CH" supposedly standing for "Competition Hot." These were stripped-down models oriented toward on- and off-road work with magneto ignition, high exhaust pipes, solo seat, smaller "peanut" tank, and lighter overall weight. It also featured the now-famous "eyebrow" headlight cover that remains a Sportster trademark. Power rose steadily over the years, earning the fleet Sportster the nickname "King of the Drags" -- an unofficial title it would hold until the late 1960s. Of course, this was at a time when most of its competitors were British 650-cc twins, which spotted considerable displacement to the Sportster. And in drag racing, size matters. The chrome wire spoke wheels look good with a MN90-18 tire on the rear and a 3.50-18 tire on the front. Both have tons of life left on them. The odometer is showing 10,691 miles. The VIN is 61XLCH3072 and this bike is being sold on mileage exempt title from the dry state of Oklahoma. GET OUT AND RIDE! |
