1947 EL Harley Davidson: Low production #2480.This last year knucklehead is extremely clean restored as close to stock as possible. The story of this bike (to the best of my knowledge) is as follows. The original purchase was from Dudley Perkins Harley Davidson in San Francisco CA. The Second owner bought the bike around 1950 and moved it to Sonoma County CA. The bike stayed in the same family (Uncle to nephew from death) until the late 1980s. The third owner then started the restoration project through 1997. The bike again sat 80% restored for approximately 5 years. I purchased the bike in June of 2003 and had to clean it up from sitting. This bike was restored very meticulsly. So it was a nice place to start. The bike was immediately put into a small bike shop here in Sonoma County CA. All work and upgrades were done with quality and originality in mind.

Some of the upgrades are as follows:
Powder Coating (all done by the 3rd owner): Frame Forks Front & Back wheel hubs, and brake drums Rear sprocket Barrels Primary chain cover Oil tank Running boards Other work and upgrades done the 3rd owner and myself: New White Wall Radial Tires (Dunlap) New solo seat and rear pad has been redone Cloth coated wiring New V Twin 6Volt battery New Spot Lights, Headlight and Front Running light New rubber foot pads, both Foot clutch and Foot Brake Flight Red paint (Factory Color) Both tanks were cleaned inside and rust free then milk coated. Motor and Trans were both gone through by the and were checked and adjusted / gone through by the shop that I took it to. New Brakes (front and back) New clutch New Front Fender (Rear Fender &Tanks are original)
Matching Belly Numbers, Leather Saddle Bags are Factory Original and are in good shape. They were cleaned by the last owner and oiled to back life with Neats-foot oil. They were sewn together by a local saddle maker as a flop over bags. The rear seat is sewn to that with wool padding (so the fender has no rear seat holes. The rear fender chrome plates hold not only the bags but the seat on also. This was done with the thought of riding the bike with only the solo seat. The rear fender reflectors are all new and fender chrome redone. The bike has 2000 miles (approximately) since I bought it. The speedometer was switched in 1950 by the second owner. The miles that are on there are what is on the bike since 1950 according to his nephew. 08310 Note the faded 0 it has not been turned over according to the nephew. This bike runs and shifts very smooth and is pleasure to ride
