 Vehicle Description
Hard to top the style of a bubbletop Chevy, especially in the classic combination of Ermine White over red. With a beautiful restoration, a thumping 427 cubic inch V8 under the hood, and those flashy wheels, this 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air is a rock star everywhere it goes. A tasteful resto-mod, if style with performance is your ambition, few cars can match this one.

I can assure you that the guys who finished the dramatic bodywork on this Imp knew their stuff, because the car looks even better in person than it does in photos. Every curve is gentle and unbroken, the flat panels are exceedingly smooth, and every edge and corner is crisp and sharp, so someone took their time getting this one right. Im sure theres another substantial chunk of time tied up in hanging all the sheetmetal, because gaps are excellent everywhere you look. And then theres the paint, which isnt a custom mix but rather simple, plain Ermine White, which comes right off the 1961 color pallet. Modern urethane paint looks so deep that you could fall in and drown, and the ultra-clean look of the Bel Air is a dramatic contrast to the more chrome-laden Impala. Things like the virtually unobtainable front and rear windshields are in great shape, the trim was either re-chromed or polished, and nobody will ever mistake this car for anything else on the road thanks to the iconic round taillights and dramatic V-shaped deck lid.

Even better than all that gorgeous white paint is the dazzling bright red interior, which is also this cars original choice. Nicely restored using period-correct patterns, its both sporty and upscale. Pure 1960s cool covers every surface, from the bright trim on the edges of the seat to the handsome steering wheel to the cantilevered instrument panel. All the original gauges are in place, but theyre joined by a set of Auto Meter auxiliary gauges and a column-mounted tach so the 427 is easy to monitor. A B&M shifter sits in the center, managing the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath and theres a newer AM/FM radio in the dash for entertainment. Its not real heavy on options, but when even the base models look this good, theres really no need for a lot of other stuff. Even the trunk is spotless, offering correct mats and a space-saver spare up on its own little shelf.

Dont worry, theres of muscle under the hood, a burly 427 cubic inch big block beautifully dressed with lots of shiny bits. Its fully rebuilt and offers things like an Eagle forged crank and I-beam rods, Keith Black pistons, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and a Mallory ignition system to light it up. You need big power? This car definitely delivers. Then theres the dual exhaust system that has a wonderful mellow sound and outlets just behind the rear wheels, as well as the quick-witted TH350 I mentioned earlier. Youll be delighted to see how clean the floors are, and that looks like the original rear end out back, so it has highway-friendly gears for cruising. The suspension is pretty stock, so it rides and handles like it should, even with the big block living up front, which makes it ridiculously easy to make a quick getaway. Perhaps its most striking feature are those sparkling Centerline wheels, which wear Goodyear radials up front and Mickey Thompson stickies out back.

With more serious blasting powder behind it, this stunning Bel delivers in every way: looks, performance, and style. Call today!
