| A record sales year for the Corvette in 1979, with more model year production than ever before that peaked at 53,807 produced. Much remained the same for the 1979 Corvette although many comfort features that had been optional became standard equipment to improve its "cruising and comfort" aspect, including air conditioning, power windows, and a telescoping steering column. The front and rear spoiler package that was used on the previous year's Pace Car was now available as an option on any Corvette. |
